The Castle Snug,
Is in the James Court (Lawnmarket, Royal Mile) in Edinburgh, Scotland. This particular apartment has a very interesting history, as the 18th century building has been the home of James Boswell (1740-1795) who often brought into his house the famous Dr.Samuel Johnston. James Court has been the centre of meeting and residency of many important figures of that period. Considered a mansion at the time, the house of James Boswell was admired by the Edinburgh's society as the building was indicating opulence and elegance.

Although the building has been partly destroyed later in the 19th century by a fire who led to hundreds of homeless people, the building still keeps the first stone and structure upon on which it is built . Nevertheless, "the mansion" didn't lose its charm and the enormous historical heritage.

Castle Snug is a "privileged" place as it is close to some of the most important touristic attractions in Edinburgh: Edinburgh Castle, The Edinburgh military Tattoo, Holyrood Palace, St Giles Cathedral, Gladstones land, Woolen Mill, National Galleries and museums, The Mound, Princes Street Gardens, Princes Street, George Street.
